UCD Musical Society Presents: Into the Woods

UCD Musical Society

UCD Musical Society is proud to present Into the Woods as our Semester 2 show, 2023!

Into the Woods is a 1987 musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who simply wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s happy “Ever After” is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

Into the Woods combines comedy and tragedy in a breathtaking musical amalgamation that is sure to sweep you off your feet! The Brothers Grimm Fairytales hit the stage like never before with a story steeped in magic and lessons about wishes, family and the choices we make.
