UCD Dramsoc presents ‘Hamlet’ in Astra Hall, January 17th and 19th. Hamlet, Princess of Denmark, is home from school to mourn the death of her father, King Hamlet, who died two months earlier. Hamlet is disgusted to discover the marriage of her newly widowed mother, Queen Gertrude, to her uncle Claudius, King Hamlet’s brother, who now has his throne.

Shortly thereafter, a ghost appears with a likeness to the former King. The spirit tells Hamlet of her uncle’s treachery and persuades her to expose him.

Hamlet vows to avenge her father which ultimately pushes her to destroy everything around her.
