UCD Musical Society proudly presents our semester two production, ‘Gypsy’, coming to Astra Hall from the 6th – 9th March!
Gypsy is considered by many to be one of Broadway’s all-time triumphs. It is the ultimate tale of an ambitious stage mother fighting for her daughters’ success – while secretly yearning for her own.
With lyrics by Stephen Sondheim (Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, West Side Story) and music by Jules Styne (Funny Girl, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes), the music in the show is nothing short of perfect and some of the numbers such as “Everything’s Coming Up Roses” and “Rose’s Turn” in the show have established themselves as musical theatre standards. This legendary musical is set all across America in the 1920s and 30s in the backstage world of American vaudeville theatre.
Come see our incredible cast and band made up of UCD Students take to the stage to bring you an unforgettable night of musical theatre!
